The records table
The disclosures
The disclosures of The Abstract: what the book does with reader data, its standing note on lending advice, and the history of this address.
What the book is for
The Abstract publishes reading notes on the culture of lending. It is a journal, written for readers who want to understand how secured lending works on paper. Readers with a live transaction, a real file or a real deadline work with licensed professionals in their own state, whose advice is built on the documents in front of them.
What the book keeps of its readers
The book is a static publication: it sets no tracking cookie, runs no analytics script, and keeps no account. The only record it holds is the mail a reader chooses to send to the records table, which is used to correct notes and nothing else.
The history of this address
This address once carried the website of a California equity lender, active roughly between 2002 and 2011. The present publication keeps the archived pages of that site as evidence of what the address once was, the way an abstract keeps older recordings: dated, cited and read as documents. Historical applications, forms and rate pages are answered with a note, not a form.
